As the NHS no longer offer a service to remove benign/cosmetic imperfections from the skin, CryoMedix is a newly formed venture offering an affordable service to the local flintshire area.
Both Cryotherapy and Electrolysis are not new technologies with evidence dating back to the 1900's on these methods having been successfully used by Dermatologists to remove a variety of skin imperfections/lesions. For Cryotherapy, traditionally liquid nitrogen was used (and is still used in some hospital settings) however this is costly, can cause a wound and has a risk of infection. It is therefore no longer offered in community clinics. With the development of precision cryo devices, using a lower risk alternative of nitrous oxide and portable electrolysis machines delivering a safe and low electrical current, skin imperfections can now be removed in the community again.
With my background as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, I have experienced first hand what distress imperfections to our skin can cause to self-esteem, confidence and long term affect our mental health. I have strong work ethics and remain loyal to the NHS service, but with this no longer being available, I felt that I was best placed to offer this service in my local community.
Nursing is my second career in life, having started my working life in risk management and IT. I retrained as a nurse in 2010, and achieved a first class batchelor of Science degree in 2013. I then went on to complete further studies, specialising in all aspects of primary care, managing all chronic long term conditions with a special interest in women's health and in particular aging and menopause. I have also completed the v300 Non-medical prescriber qualification which I use daily in my role.
To undertake this new venture, I have recently completed the following courses;
> A CPD certified Cryotherapy training course with Cryothestics, receiving a certificate of excellence in Cryotherapy. This training workshop has been recognised as first class.
> An advanced Electrolysis course at BTBA accredited training centre, receiving a high honours certificate of achievement.
Both acknowledged by insurance companies in the industry and to this end I am fully insured to undertake these treatments.
